Trade-related Technical Assistance

Lawyers at FratiniVergano have provided, over the years, considerable amount of expertise through a number of international trade-related technical assistance projects.

The firm strongly believes in the importance of such commitment in general, but particularly to the benefit of developing countries, least developed countries and, ultimately, their producers, exporters and traders.

Lawyers in the firm, individually or collectively, have participated in trade-related technical assistance projects funded by the EU, USAID, DFID, SECO, the World Bank, the WTO, FAO, UNCTAD, ITC, ILO and a number of individual Governments.

Assistance has been provided to countries such as (in alphabetical order) China, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Mauritius, Mongolia, Russia, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam and to country groupings such as the ACP, ASEAN, CARIFORUM and the Pacific Islands.

The areas in which we feel confident to be able to continue providing trade-related technical assistance are those of general market access, agricultural and services trade, WTO dispute settlement procedures, customs law and trade negotiation.

Our legal background and advocacy skills allow us to interpret in the best of ways the actual needs of technical assistance recipients and help them effectively achieve better trading relations.

We have, over the years, interpreted this role with passion and deep conviction.

Through it, we believe to have learnt a great deal about the real features and dynamics of international trade.

Equally important, we have developed an unparallel reach and contact-base, often at the highest levels, in many countries and Government administrations.

The firm looks forward to continue providing expert advice, through capped fees and pre-budgeted honoraria, to all developing countries and Governments in need.
