The paper discusses the function of the precedent as a source of legitimation of the Court of Justice&rsquo;s jurisdiction and as a tool to preserve the autonomy of the EU legal order both with regard to the Member States&rsquo; legal order and to the international jurisdictions, in particular with reference to the CETA&rsquo;s tribunals. The conference is held by the University of Bologna.
