Alya Mahira

Alya Mahira graduated cum laude on a Bachelor of Law Degree from Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), Indonesia. Concentrating on business law, Alya was active in both organizational and academic events in UPH. She was a member of the UPH National Law Moot Court Community from 2016 to 2018, joining two prestigious competitions, held in Padjajaran University in 2017 and Airlangga University in 2017. From these competitions, Alya honed her legal knowledge regarding trade law, bankruptcy law, human rights violation law, and intellectual property rights law in Indonesia. Alya continued to pursue her interest in the field of international law by joining the 17th John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition (JHJMCC). Alya successfully led the UPH Team as an oralist, managing to be the first ever Indonesian team to proceed to the Final Oral Rounds in Geneva, Switzerland. She also obtained the title of 2nd Best Oralist in the Preliminary Rounds and top 5 Best Oralist in the Semifinal rounds of JHJMCC (Asia-Pacific Rounds). Prior to joining FratiniVergano, Alya obtained her professional experiences by joining Plato Legal, a legal tech-based company in Jakarta, as a legal trainee for 6 months, where she was responsible for handling client’s company establishment under Indonesian law.

Since 2019, Alya has been a research assistant at the UPH Center for International Trade and Investment, where she is responsible for research on issues of WTO law, international trade policies and current trade issues.

Alya is a native Indonesian speaker and also fluent in English.
